In the Works...
3rd grade is learning how to draw with glue to get ready for next week's unit. To practice, they had to make a series of lines, including one straight, one zig-zag, one dotted and one dashed. Then, they practiced tracing the lines of an animal they had drawn on the paper with pencil. They also made a circle the size of a quarter and filled it in with glue (this will serve as an example of what NOT to do.) When drawing with glue, you want to make even, semi-thick lines. Too thin won't show up, and too thick will just make a mess! You also have to make sure you keep the tip of the bottle clean (it's like having a well-sharpened pencil.)
It's hard to draw with glue, but I think they got the hang of it!

Check back to see what the third graders will make in their upcoming assignment!

Great idea for practice, of what NOT to do! I love it. I will definitely use this notion next time around!
